About Lake Avenue Veterinary Clinic

Established in 2008 by former owner Dr. Wayne Hodsden, our practice has long been committed to providing high-quality, affordable veterinary care for dogs and cats in a small, personal, and compassionate setting. In August 2017, the practice was acquired by Dr. Shane Donner, who served as sole owner and practicing veterinarian until his unexpected passing in June of 2025.

Determined to preserve this small-town private practice and continue serving our community, Dr. Melissa Mroziak and Dr. Tribetta Spires stepped in to lead the clinic forward.

Dr. Mroziak is a New York State–licensed veterinarian and USDA-accredited, with a diverse background in biology, research, education, advanced imaging, and clinical practice; she earned her DVM from the Atlantic Veterinary College and brings a thoughtful, science-driven yet compassionate approach to patient care.

Dr. Spires, a graduate of Mississippi State University, has over 12 years of experience spanning private practice, emergency medicine, and relief work, with particular strengths in client education, collaborative team environments, soft-tissue surgery, and both in-clinic and at-home euthanasia services.

Together, Dr. Mroziak and Dr. Spires are proud to carry on the legacy of compassionate, professional veterinary medicine while ensuring our community continues to have access to trusted, locally owned care.
